Terms of Service

We know legal pages aren't fun to read — here's the plain-English version: use ChefJobs Abroad honestly, we're a job board rather than an employer or agency, and you're responsible for checking out any employer before you commit.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using ChefJobs Abroad (the "Service," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. Description of the Service
ChefJobs Abroad is an online job board and matching platform that connects culinary professionals ("Job Seekers") with hospitality employers offering positions abroad ("Employers"). ChefJobs Abroad is NOT an employment agency, staffing agency, recruiter, immigration consultancy, or party to any employment relationship, offer, or contract that may result from use of the Service. We do not employ Job Seekers, and we are not responsible for the actions, offers, representations, or omissions of any Employer or Job Seeker.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account and to keep that information up to date. Notify us promptly at chefjobsabroad@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
5. Job Seeker Responsibilities
If you create a profile or apply to positions through the Service, you agree that all information you provide (including your resume, work history, qualifications, and contact details) is accurate and not misleading. We do not guarantee that you will be contacted by, interviewed by, or hired by any Employer, and we make no representations about the accuracy, legality, or legitimacy of any job listing.
6. Employer Responsibilities
If you post job listings through the Service, you represent and warrant that: (a) you have the legal authority to offer the position described and to hire in the country/location listed; (b) the listing is accurate, current, and not misleading; (c) the position and your hiring practices comply with all applicable local labor, employment, immigration, and anti-discrimination laws; and (d) you will not use the Service to post fraudulent, discriminatory, or misleading listings. The Service is currently offered to Employers on the pricing terms displayed at the time of posting, which may change at our discretion with notice.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to: use the Service for any unlawful purpose; post false, fraudulent, or misleading job listings or profile information; impersonate any person or entity; harvest or scrape data from the Service without our written consent; upload viruses or malicious code; harass, discriminate against, or defraud other users; or attempt to circumvent any security or access-control measures.
8. User Content and License
You retain ownership of the content you submit to the Service (including resumes, profile information, and job listings) ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant ChefJobs Abroad a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Service (for example, showing your profile to a prospective Employer or displaying a job listing to Job Seekers).
9. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, text, graphics, logos, and underlying code, is owned by or licensed to ChefJobs Abroad and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without our prior written consent.
10. Third-Party Links and Content
The Service may contain links to third-party websites, employer career pages, or application portals that are not owned or controlled by ChefJobs Abroad. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party site.
11. No Guarantee; Disclaimer
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that job listings are accurate, current, or legitimate, or that any Employer is trustworthy or compliant with applicable law. See our Disclaimer page for important additional information, particularly regarding international relocation, visas, and employer vetting.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ChefJobs Abroad and its owners, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service, including any dealings with Employers or Job Seekers you meet through the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ChefJobs Abroad and its owners and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the Service. You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time by contacting us.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles, and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ontario, Canada, for any dispute arising out of these Terms, except where applicable consumer protection law requires otherwise.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
