Sportsman's Inn Resort & Marina is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to help lead kitchen operations in beautiful Killarney, Ontario. This hands-on leadership role offers the opportunity to work alongside a talented culinary team while enjoying life in a stunning Northern Ontario resort community. Accommodation is available, making this an excellent opportunity for chefs looking to relocate for the season. Role As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to oversee daily kitchen operations and maintain exceptional food quality and guest experiences. Key responsibilities include: Assisting with kitchen management and food production Leading kitchen operations when the Head Chef is absent Supporting menu development, recipe creation, and food costing Supervising and mentoring kitchen staff Managing inventory and food ordering processes Controlling food and labour costs Ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards Maintaining quality standards across all menu offerings Coordinating with front-of-house teams to enhance guest satisfaction Supporting special events and resort functions Training staff in culinary techniques and safety procedures ChefJobs Abroad Analysis This is one of the stronger seasonal Sous Chef opportunities currently available in Ontario. Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Sous Chef experience
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Experience with menu development and food costing
  • Knowledge of inventory management and purchasing
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Driver's licence preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
