About the Position

Cook Fine Dining in a Luxury Alpine Chalet Imagine spending your winter in the French Alps, creating exceptional meals for guests enjoying one of the most memorable holidays of their lives. Kulma Ski is looking for talented and passionate Private Chalet Chefs to join its luxury chalet team for the upcoming winter season. Unlike a traditional hotel kitchen, you'll take ownership of your own chalet kitchen, designing memorable dining experiences while working closely with guests in an intimate and rewarding environment. From artisan breakfasts to elegant multi-course dinners, you'll have the opportunity to showcase your creativity while living and working in one of Europe's premier ski destinations. The Opportunity As a Private Chalet Chef, you'll be responsible for the complete culinary experience within your assigned luxury chalet. Working independently (or alongside a kitchen assistant in larger chalets), you'll prepare fresh, seasonal menus while maintaining exceptional standards of presentation, cleanliness, and hospitality. Guest interaction is a key part of this role. You'll discuss dietary preferences, accommodate allergies, and ensure every meal exceeds expectations. This is an excellent opportunity for chefs who enjoy creativity, independence, and delivering a highly personalized dining experience. Your Responsibilities As the Chalet Chef, you'll manage every aspect of the kitchen operation, including: Preparing and serving artisan-style breakfasts with daily hot options Creating homemade afternoon teas and freshly baked snacks Producing fine dining evening meals featuring canapΓ©s, starters, mains, desserts, and cheese boards Designing creative menus using fresh, seasonal ingredients Catering for allergies, dietary requirements, and guest preferences Ordering food and managing supplier deliveries Controlling food costs and minimizing waste through careful planning Maintaining HACCP standards and excellent kitchen hygiene Keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and operating efficiently Managing food budgets and inventory Completing required administrative and financial paperwork Building positive relationships with chalet guests to create an unforgettable holiday experience What Makes This Role Different? Unlike many seasonal chef positions, this role allows you to take full ownership of your kitchen. You'll have the freedom to create exciting menus, work directly with guests, and deliver restaurant-quality dining in an exclusive private chalet setting. Every week brings new guests, new menus, and the chance to showcase your culinary skills in a beautiful alpine environment. If you've worked in fine dining, private households, luxury lodges, yachts, or boutique hotels, you'll feel right at home. ChefJobs Abroad Analysis ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Private chalet chef positions are among the most sought-after seasonal chef jobs in Europeβ€”and for good reason. This role offers significantly more creativity than a traditional hotel kitchen. Rather than cooking the same menu for hundreds of guests, you'll prepare bespoke meals for smaller groups, allowing you to focus on quality, presentation, and guest interaction. Kulma Ski is looking for chefs who can confidently manage their own kitchen while delivering luxury hospitality. If you have a background in fine dining, boutique hotels, yachts, or private dining, this is an outstanding opportunity to combine your culinary skills with an unforgettable winter in the French Alps. Living in the mountains, skiing on your days off, and working in a luxury environment makes this one of the most rewarding seasonal chef positions available.
