About the Position

🍽 Opportunity Ski Miquel is hiring an experienced Pastry & Breakfast Chef to work alongside a Head Chef feeding 50–80 guests a week β€” noticeably more volume than the standalone Chef role above β€” with sole ownership of hot breakfast and every cake, biscuit and treat for afternoon tea across the property. It's a specialist seat inside a bigger kitchen team, not a generalist chalet-chef post. πŸ‘¨β€πŸ³ Role & Responsibilities Cook and serve hot breakfast to order β€” eggs, pancakes, sausages, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms and beans β€” from 8–9am, working with the Chalet Hosts Prepare and make all cakes, biscuits and treats for afternoon tea, across all chalets Assist the Head Chef with pre-dinner canapΓ©s Assist the Head Chef with a 3-course dinner for 50–80 guests Assist with children's dinner where required Keep the kitchen clean, safe and HACCP-compliant Clean the kitchen, cookware, pots and pans 🌎 ChefJobs Abroad Analysis This is the baking-and-breakfast specialist inside a larger chalet-hotel operation β€” feeding 50–80 guests a week means the Head Chef needs someone who owns their two sections completely, freeing the rest of the kitchen to focus on dinner service. Like the standalone Chef role, the day is built around a genuinely free afternoon once morning prep is done, with the kitchen quiet until the 7:30pm dinner push. For a chef with a real flair for baking who wants a defined, high-volume specialist role β€” rather than running an entire chalet solo β€” inside a mountain season with gear, lift pass and travel contribution sorted, this is a strong fit. βœ… Best Fit Chefs with a genuine flair or passion for baking, not just competent pastry skills Cooks who want a defined specialist section (breakfast + afternoon tea) rather than running a whole kitchen solo Those with at least a season's experience as a Commis, Pastry or Breakfast Chef in a chalet, hotel or professional kitchen Chefs comfortable assisting a Head Chef rather than leading service themselves Those who want real mountain time β€” free afternoons once prep is done Not a fit for chefs who want ownership of the full dinner menu β€” that stays with the Head Chef here EU passport holders only (British passports do not qualify without existing French work rights)
