About the Position

SpaceX is hiring a Jr. Sous Chef on a temporary, 3-month contract (with permanent conversion possible based on performance and business need) to support kitchen inventory, food prep, and setup across its culinary team — this specific listing is open at three sites at once, two in Texas and one in Florida, feeding the workforce behind SpaceX's rocket and spacecraft programs. The hook: a genuinely low-barrier entry point into corporate food service at one of the most closely watched engineering operations around, with sourcing that leans local, sustainable, and organic rather than standard institutional catering.

🌎 ChefJobs Abroad Analysis
A 3-month contract with a possible permanent conversion makes this one of the more accessible ways into corporate food service at SpaceX, without needing to already carry Sous Chef or Executive-level credentials — 2 years of culinary leadership is the whole experience bar. Being open across three sites at once (two in Texas, one in Florida) also means genuine flexibility for someone open to relocating for the right opportunity, or testing the waters at a specific site before deciding whether to stay. It's a solid move for a cook early in their leadership career who wants a distinctive name on their résumé and a real shot at converting a temporary contract into something permanent.
✅ Best Fit

Cooks who want to build a resume credential at a high-profile engineering company
Not a fit for cooks who need permanent-hire certainty from day one, or who aren't open to Texas or Florida relocation
