About the Position
๐ฝ Opportunity
SpaceX is hiring an Executive Chef at Starbase, its rocket development site in South Texas, to oversee teams across multiple food service outlets fueling the broader workforce while putting particular focus on higher-end food experiences for the company's guests and VIPs. The hook is the mission itself: this isn't corporate cafeteria work, it's feeding the people building the technology behind SpaceX's Mars ambitions, with real latitude to open new outlets, shape VIP experiences, and build "out-of-this-world" employee engagement into daily food service.

Set, follow, and enforce standards of operation across multiple kitchen outlets and service formats
Support operation, team development, and the overall food services department
Enforce food and general workplace safety across all food service areas
Train staff on work planning materials, safety protocols, and health inspection guidelines
Oversee hiring and disciplinary decisions for the team, with overall food services wellbeing in mind
Coordinate successful openings of new outlets, with particular emphasis on VIP experiences
Manage new outlets through their entire lifecycle once in regular day-to-day operation
Plan and meet cost-per-head targets across sites and outlets
Support hiring, development, and retention across all food services staff
๐ ChefJobs Abroad Analysis
Starbase is a genuinely singular posting โ a rocket development site rather than a resort or restaurant district, where the "guests" can include the people and VIPs behind some of the most closely watched engineering milestones happening anywhere right now. What distinguishes this from standard corporate food service is scope and stakes combined: multiple outlets, real creative latitude for VIP experiences and new-outlet openings, and a workforce whose schedule doesn't bend to a typical service rhythm. This is a strong move for a chef who wants their food service career to intersect with something bigger than hospitality โ high-volume, high-responsibility corporate leadership at one of the most talked-about worksites in the country.
