About the Position
๐ฝ Opportunity
Vail Resorts is hiring Advanced Cooks across Whistler Blackcomb's on- and off-mountain restaurants for winter 2026/27 โ fourteen venues across one of the largest ski areas in North America, all under one hiring push. The detail that actually moves the needle for most applicants isn't the wage, it's the free Epic ski pass that comes with the job, lessons and dependent passes included.
๐จโ๐ณ Role
- Cook across a rotation of Whistler Blackcomb's 14 on- and off-mountain dining venues
- Execute high-volume service in fast-turnover mountain restaurants
- Apply and build on core cooking technique, with supervisory experience a plus
- Maintain food safety standards; ServSafe certification viewed favourably
- Handle physically demanding kitchen work โ continuous standing, lifting to 50 lbs
๐ ChefJobs Abroad Analysis
Whistler Blackcomb runs one of the largest lift-served terrain networks anywhere, and cooking across its restaurant portfolio means real day-to-day variety rather than one static kitchen. The headline perk isn't the hourly rate โ it's the Epic pass: free skiing and riding across the whole Vail portfolio for a cook who'd otherwise spend a good chunk of their paycheque on lift tickets. Add discounted staff housing, food and shuttle on top, and this is a strong entry point for a cook one or two seasons into their career who wants serious mountain time built around real kitchen hours. It's a step down in title from Chef de Partie, but a step up in lifestyle for the right person.
