About the Position

About the Role Join our alpine lodge in Zermatt, in the shadow of the Matterhorn, as Sous Chef for a 50-seat mountain restaurant beloved by skiers and Michelin-guide reviewers alike. The Setting At 2,200m elevation, our chalet kitchen serves long Swiss lunches of fondue, raclette, and reinvented alpine classics — followed by intimate après-ski tasting dinners. What You'll Do • Run service alongside the Head Chef during peak winter season • Develop daily specials using Valais beef, alpine cheeses, and foraged herbs • Train and mentor a brigade of 6 • Manage stock during the unique logistics of a cable-car-supplied kitchen What We're Looking For • 4+ years in fine dining or alpine hospitality • Strong fundamentals in French and modern European cuisine • Comfortable with seasonal contracts (Nov–Apr) and altitude • Ski or snowboard skills are a major plus — staff get a season pass What We Offer • CHF 5,800–6,800/month + tips • Shared staff chalet in Zermatt village • Full lift pass, ski rental discount, and meals on duty • EU/Swiss work permit sponsorship.
